Webinar – Watch
Capital raising from investment companies was challenging throughout 2023, with macroeconomic uncertainty prevailing through much of the year.
To attract investment demand and narrow the trading discounts, investment companies have proactively turned to implementing measures such as share buybacks, tender offers, and strategy refinements. However, the path to full recovery will almost certainly involve further consolidation in the sector to drive sufficient scale and deeper liquidity.
The London Stock Exchange sat down with Marketplace members, Black&Callow, JTC Group, QuotedData, ScribeStar and TB Cardew to discuss:
- The challenges and opportunities investment companies are presented with from a consolidating sector.
- The importance of having an effective investment company communication and stakeholder engagement strategy during challenging times.
- How to stand out in a competitive environment by adopting a best practice approach to corporate reporting.
- The role of digitisation and automation in reducing cost, time and risk associated with the capital raising process.
- The role of the fund administrator and company secretary in supporting investment companies as they navigate these challenges.
